After a fantastic three days at zP! LAN the Firstfrag Day of Defeat Source team were pipped at the post coming #2 at the Dutch LAN. The guys have had a great run, playing some really hard won matches and coming top in the group stages. After a long summer lay off, the guys very quickly picked it up and got back in the groove with some great team work
They beat the Danish team dh.Steelseries in the quarter-finals on Salerno and Lennon with a comfortable total score of 12:2 followed by the very dis-jointed semi-final match against mysTix.mix over Catania_rc2 and Harrington which they won13:4 after mysTix.mix made a substitution during the first map.
For the third place decider, two of the surprises of the LAN, Ministry of Defense and mysTix.mix, battled it out in an epic game, with a total of fifteen caps, but only one cap in it at the end!

In a short serie of team presentations, we'll be giving our readers previews of some of the attending teams! Teams like eXtensive!, ShockWave, UNIR - Zotac will be interviewed shortly and previewed.
The first team that we'll have a closer look at are the recently voted number two in Europe, eXtensive!, formerly known as warriors of Legend. These guys have been on fire lately, winning a lot of important matches, although they lost the ESL Invite Spring Final against zeroPoint! Gaming with 9:5.
Tonight they're playing against UNIR - Zotac for a spot in the EMS Looser Bracket Final. The winner of this match fights mysTix and the winner of the Looser Bracket Final will fight zeroPoint! Gaming to see who wins the first DoD:S EMS season.
Cqrlx7 told me a thing or two about the eXtensive! LAN preparations. They'll train as much as possible, seeing as they want minimum a top 3 spot, but it's holidays for everyone, so they wont be able to play every day with their LAN line up. About the top 3 spot he also told me that his team wants to beat zeroPoint! Gaming, their rival. LAN games aren't the same as Online games, so they are hoping for a first spot, although they realise it is going to be really hard beating zP!.
Their top three prediction is the following:
1. zeroPoint! Gaming 2. eXtensive! 3. FirstFrag / UNIR - Zotac
For those who are going to the zP! LAN, you'll have the chances of getting autographs of the following players:
Justin "Cond0r" Magras
Anthony "xday" Levaltier
Romain "z!buuu" Chabriais
Carl "Cqrlx7" Gérard
Thomas "mz" Bruni
Morangjje "dew" Aurélien
We'll see you guys there! Good luck with your future preparation! Read 0 Comments... >> |
